Happy Halloween

This concludes my month of flashback to Halloween costumes-but stay tuned for next year when there will be more memories.

For the last few years of school, my friend Glenda organized me and my Halloween costume. She is the red M&M note that her M&M is more round than mine and my friend Linda's(which I made). Also being a lover of M&M's I am surprised I got my costume wrong, since the M&M logo is not on the candy, which has just a plain M.

Michael's Mom's visit

First off, the cat costume, which I spent many hours shopping to find cat ears- some of you may remember the Cat Story. (Picture 2007)

Michael's mom came to visit this weekend, we had a fun time entertaining her. Friday night cheese fondue, and wine. We played the discussion cards, and you would never believe where my mother-in-law wants her tatoo and what it will say-very risque!

On Saturday we went for a short hike at Eaton Cayon

Then we went to Santa Monica beach to see Cirque Du Solei . It is quite amazing how talented some of the performers are. I think in my next life I would like to be an acrobat!

Then on Sunday we had a great day for sailing in long beach. We sailed around the Queen Mary, a cruise ship, oil tankers, buoys with sea lions on them. We had a great time. (hope all the pictures meet your satisfaction Shelia!)

Here is a video of the day:)

A weekend of hard labor

First, the latest Halloween pic is of me and my friends Glenda and Gabriella. I am the one with the helmet on if you can't tell. ( I was playing tough as you may tell by my uniform
being half off) Oct 2002

Well not only did I finally decide on a color, we washed the walls, cleared out the room and then painted, and painted and painted- then wala a freshly painted bedroom. It was totally worth all the work-it feels like we have a new room.

Decisions Decisions

Most of my Halloween pictures are at work, so Iam posting a dress up picture instead. It is of Michael and I in the summer of '89. I remember this one picture vividly, not because I had to bribe Michael to pose for it- but because when I went to pick up the picture the girl behind the counter said, hey he is really cute, which I replied I think so too! But then she asked that fatal question to me Is he your younger brother? grumble grumble grumble

Last week we decided to change our bedroom around, it was not sucessful at all, we both don't like the new look. However we vowed to paint the room before we move it back. Michael and I are into our colors so picking THE color is a very long process. So far I have 15 colors on the wall and am not sure we have found THE color yet. (Suzie, Michael might be calling for advice, of what the latest tasteful color is) Here are the ones we tried so far.

The Ultimate Fan

First the background of the new Halloween Photo, it was taken in 1982, and me and my friend Sue dressed up as Raggedy Andy and Anne- Sue was a good sport going as Andy. She spent an entire day making her the orange hair.

Today we had a volleyball game (the team is know 11-0! just wanted to brag a bit-however there is loads of talent on the team and my job is not to mess them up). At the beginning of the game all the girls noticed our faithful fan a dad of one of my players was not there-he also usually films all our games. It was cute how excited the girls were when he finally showed up.

It reminded me of my dad, who I think only missed 3 swim meets from the time I was 8 to 21. Although he did not film me (except once and I'll save that story for another time) he did officiate. One of my favorite officiating stories that involved my dad was during the summer league championships.

I was 12 and was one of the top 3 butterfliers that summer. The 3 of us were having a Michael Phelps photo finish dead heat, so it was up to the judges to pick the places (no electric timers back then) and guess what? my dad picked me 1st :) Luckily so did the other two judges. Here I am at twelve being a show off- love those shoulders- not so much the hair!

Happy October/Where did September go?

In honor of October I will be sporting my different Haloween costumes (that is if I am a better blogger this month). I was part of the 3 little pigs and big bad wolf back in 1986 ( I am the short little piggy).

September went so quickly-this is the month in review

Labor day Linda and Tommy visited, so that meant lots of water activities. Hanging by the pool, and going to the beach. I am picking my two favorite shots of the weekend, unlike on facebook where I placed them all and was told I could of been more selective :) We always have such a good time with all 4 of them I wish they lived closer! (hint when are you guys moving to CA?)

The following weekend I was doing Volleyball stuff, and Michael finally made it to the top of Mount Whitney! No weather this time.

Then the next weekend it was sailing to Catalina- we had awesome weather, and the water was very clear, it definitely made me miss the Carribean sailing on the east coast- So how about it east coasters any takers for a sailing trip?

Last weekend we celebrated my friend Melissa's birthday up in Paso Robles (wine country)
Where we were given the royal treatment at many wineries since Melissa is into her wines. We had the wine wrangler cart us to many out of the way wineries.

Michael also found his long lost twin - the husband of one of the Melissa's husband friend and Michael had everything in common. One would say I visited Ireland after college, and the other would say me too! One would say I go biking on this trail- the other one me too! It was amazing how much we they had in common. So I think even though it was "my thing" Michael might of had a better time then me!
